The Nile rose and fell like the breath of the gods in the land. Time itself was not measured by clocks. Instead, it was marked by cycles of the sun, moon, and flood. Welcome to the Beginning of Time – End of Eternity. Today we step into the Ancient Egyptian calendar. It was a system that bound together farmers and pharaohs, priests and astronomers. From the sacred rising of Sirius, the calendar was more than a way to mark days. It marked the division of the year into three great seasons: Inundation, Emergence, and Harvest. It was a cosmic order, a rhythm of life and eternity. I’m your host, Patrick McCoy. Together we’ll explore how the Egyptians wove myth, ritual, and astronomy into the very fabric of time.

The Ancient Egyptian Calendar is reconstructed using the latest research into Heliopolitan, Memphite, District, astronomical, Delta region, and Elephantine mythologies. Its festival days and good and combative days are found in several archaeological and literary sources. The calendar is calibrated with the Heliacal rising of spdt (Sirius). This rising establishes wpt rnpt (opening of the year) over the ancient Capital of mn nfr (Memphis). It was traditionally established in the Early Dynastic period, c. 2773 BCE.

Voices of the Pharaohs

Profiles rulers like Rameses II and Thutmose III, blending history with mythic legacy.

The pharaohs of Egypt ruled from the banks of the Nile to the halls of eternity. They were kings, warriors, and gods. This is Voices of the Pharaohs—where we uncover the power, the myths, and the legacies that still shape history today.

Par Madja’at – Ancient Egyptian Library

A series on Egypt’s libraries and texts, exploring wisdom traditions and sacred writings.

In ancient Egypt, knowledge was not simply stored—it was guarded, revered, and woven into the very fabric of the cosmos. Welcome to Par Madja’at – Ancient Egyptian Library where today we step into the House of Books. Within its walls, papyrus scrolls held hymns to the gods, spells for the afterlife, medical treatises, and royal decrees. To the Egyptians, these were not just texts. They were living forces. Words were infused with divine power and overseen by Thoth, the god of wisdom and writing. I’m your host, Patrick McCoy. Together, we’ll explore the research and documents. They make up the wealth of knowledge that is ancient Egypt.
